Mr. Hebert is a retired music educator with more than thirty years of teaching experience at all grade levels (K-College). He is in demand as a festival honor choir director, choral music clinician, keyboardist, and is extremely proud to have been Mrs. Hyland’s choral music teacher for three years while she was in high school.
This 2023-2024 school year, for the first time, Mr. Hebert and Mrs. Hyland will be co-directing the before school auditioned choir. This choir is designed for children who would like to experience singing in a structured/traditional environment while learning chant, hymns, traditional/contemporary songs, and serve as the choir for the school weekly masses, Christmas 4pm, and Eater 9am masses, and other Sunday masses aligning with Dad’s Pancake Breakfasts. They will also be performing an Advent Concert in our church, sing the National Anthem at the Arizona Diamondback’s Faith and Family Night and participate the American Federation of Pueri Cantores Festival at St. Mary’s Basilica.
Bringing with him a traditional background as a chorister, pianist, and choral music director, Mr. Hebert proudly upholds the integrity of music in sacred Catholic worship. In August 2022, he coordinated and directed the music for Bishop Dolan’s Installation Mass. In addition to his traditional background, Greg has a performed with contemporary published Catholic artists, such as Chris Muglia, Jaime Cortez, Tom Booth, Tim Smith, Paul Hillebrand, Craig Colson, Aaron Thompson, and Daniel Consiglio. He has an ability to bring authenticity to contemporary and traditional styles.
Mr. Hebert has been the honored recipient of several awards, including Arizona Choral Educator of the Year.
